# Clearer pricing and a better website

The pricing page now says the owner counts as a member, so one person is $35 a month. The trial button stays in view, and the demo handbooks are a click away.

![The price card on the pricing page: $30 a month per handbook, plus $5 a month for each member, the owner included. Below it, monthly totals that start with Just you, 1 person, $35, then a small team of 3 at $45, a single busy location of 10 at $80, and a larger crew of 25 at $155.](https://handbook.company/marketing/updates/clearer-pricing-and-a-better-website.webp)

## What was wrong

The pricing page said $30 a month per handbook plus $5 for each user, and never said that the owner is one of those users. A handbook with only its owner on it read as $30 and was billed $35.

On a laptop, the home page's trial button sat just below the bottom of the screen. On a phone the bar at the top had no trial button at all, so anyone who had scrolled past the first screen had to open the menu to find one. The pictures of the product showed a design it no longer has.

## What the pricing page says now

The headline reads $30 a month, plus $5 for each person, and the page says plainly that everyone on a handbook counts, the owner included. The table of monthly totals starts with a handbook that has only you on it, at $35. The FAQ, and what search engines and AI assistants read about our prices, say the same thing.

## The trial button and the demos

The home page's trial button is in view on a laptop now. On a phone the bar keeps a smaller trial button wherever you scroll, beside our logo's mark, and Sign in moves into the menu. The menu itself has a bigger button and closes when you press Escape or tap outside it.

If you would rather look before signing up, the home page, the pricing page and the FAQ link to the demo handbooks. Anyone can open them without an account, and nothing in them can be changed.

## Smaller fixes

The pictures of the product are new, taken from the current design, and each one's description says what it shows. Links between our pages go straight to the page instead of through a redirect. The keyboard focus outline shows up on the dark green sections, and a link to one of our pages shared in a message now previews with our logo and our typefaces.
