# Copy a recipe size

Copy a size in a recipe to start the next one from it, and ounces of milk or syrup now count as fluid ounces without a question.

## What was asked for

A drink that comes in more than one size is mostly the same ingredients in different amounts. Setting up the large after the medium meant typing every line again. The ask was a way to copy a size and change only what differs.

## How copying a size works

In the recipe editor each size has a copy button beside its name. The copy appears straight after the original with every ingredient, amount, unit and inventory link, and with what the size makes if the recipe makes something. It is named as a copy with the name already selected, so typing the new name replaces it. A second copy gets a number, and a new size starts with a name no other size has.

Each size also has a remove button now. A size with ingredients asks before it goes, and nothing changes until the recipe is saved.

## Ounces of milk and syrup

In a cafe an ounce of milk is a fluid ounce, and the recipe editor now reads it that way. On anything measured by volume, like milk by the gallon or a syrup by the bottle, a plain oz counts as fluid ounces straight away and the line says so. Before, the editor asked, and the question was easy to answer with a weight when a volume was meant. Ingredients you weigh, like flour by the pound, read ounces as weight as before.

If you do give something measured by volume a weight in ounces, and the number is just the fluid ounces it holds, like 128 for a gallon, the editor points that out before it saves.

## Smaller changes

An item a recipe makes, like a shot of espresso, is no longer flagged on Items as missing a supplier or a place it is kept. Its row and its page name the recipe that makes it. Editing a recipe now updates the date on its card, and on a phone the copy and edit buttons on a card no longer sit on top of its title. Economics is now for owners and admins, the same people who see recipe costs.
