Fixes where the problem is

A missing price or unit is set from the recipe or menu item that names it, pages opened from another lead back to it, and empty lists offer the first step.

October 12, 2026 · 1.59.0

A Latte recipe open with its costs. Under the straw line it says Compostable Straws has no price yet, with Set a price beside it, and under the cardamom line it says Cardamom has no unit yet, with Set its unit. Both open over the recipe rather than on another page.

What sent people elsewhere

When a recipe or a menu item could not be costed, it said why and linked to the Items page to fix it. That page opened in place of the one you were on, with no way back, and staff following a link from the shopping list landed on a page only owners and admins can open. A list with nothing in it often said so and offered nothing to press.

Prices and units set on the spot

Set a price and Set its unit now open over the recipe, the menu item or the shopping item that named the problem, and close back onto it. A menu item's packaging and options open over it the same way.

Anywhere that used to say to set an item's unit on the Items page, like adding a unit or putting something you buy on the menu, has a Set its unit button instead. On the shopping list, owners and admins can change an item's supplier from the item itself, and what they typed as got stays.

A way back

When a fix does belong on another page, that page now says where you came from: Back to Menu items, Back to Recipes, Back to Items, or Back to the setup wizard, which returns to the same step. An item a recipe makes links to that recipe, and a supplier's name on an item opens the supplier.

Empty lists

An empty list now offers the step that fills it to the people who can take it: the first checklist or guide, training steps, quick links, an invite for the team directory, a location for an inventory check, and resource streams for the sustainability charts. Staff see what will fill it, with nothing to press that would only fail.

Courses that are turned off point owners and admins to the setting that turns them on, and a course with a module sent back for another try now reads In progress, not Not started.
