Merge a location into another

What was asked for

The cafe owner who asked for storage areas had already made her fridge, her freezer and the front and back of her shop into separate locations. Once storage areas existed she needed a way back to one location, and the only tool she had was Delete, which takes a location's counts and history with it.

How merging works

Each location on the Locations page has a Merge button. Pick where it goes and the dialog says how many items move and how many are already stocked there. An item only the merged location had moves across with its counts and history, so its usage estimate carries on. An item both had keeps one row with the counts added together, and the minimum and maximum of the location you keep.

Checks, transfers, supplier choices, waste records and storage areas move too. Then the merged location is deleted, and the merge refuses to finish if anything would still point at it.

Keeping it as a storage area

When the location you are merging was really a spot inside a shop, like a fridge or the back of house, the dialog offers to keep it as a storage area of the location it goes into, holding everything that came from it. The inventory check then walks it like any other area.

Transfers save all at once

Moving stock between locations now saves as one step on the server. If any line cannot be met, nothing moves, and the message names the item and how much is there. Before, a failure partway through could take stock from one location without adding it to the other, and the same item listed twice was checked against what was on hand once per line.
