Economics answers what your inventory costs

One page about money: what stock cost you week by week, what it will cost at the current pace, and which items are worth a look.

September 4, 2026 · 1.8.0

The Economics page on the 13 weeks window, headed $13,236.20 in the past 13 weeks and about $1,084.37 a week at the current pace, with each week's spend drawn from July and the pace carried forward as a dashed line.

Two numbers that disagreed

The old page had two tabs, three tiles, five cards and a table, and its two headline figures were computed from different data over different periods. They disagreed with each other, which is worse than having one of them, because you cannot tell which to believe.

One page, one pace

Spend, then what drives it, then what is worth a look, then a line saying how much check history the numbers rest on. Everything that was not about money moved to the Forecast Center, which already owned it.

  • Windows are weeks now, not days: 4, 13, 26 or 52.
  • Each week's spend is priced at the price that was in force that week, so raising a supplier's price changes what you will spend and leaves what you already spent alone.
  • The forecast uses the same usage pace as the Forecast Center and the shopping list, so three pages stop giving three answers.
